We highly recommend you back up your photos, documents, and files beforehand to ensure your precious data is safe, regardless of what happens during the repair process.

For the most secure and robust backup, we strongly recommend using a dedicated, professional backup service. These solutions offer version history and full system image backups, allowing you to restore from specific points in time or restore your entire computer system quickly. Our top recommendations: Carbonite, Acronis, and CrashPlan.

University accounts often come with large-capacity cloud storage, typically through Microsoft OneDrive, at no extra cost. While this is your best solution for quickly syncing academic files and notes, we still highly encourage adding a dedicated backup service (like those listed above) to ensure your entire device — not just your synced folders — is fully protected.

If you use an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, iCloud is the most seamless solution. While the free storage is limited, purchasing an additional, inexpensive monthly iCloud+ plan is highly recommended. This automatically and securely backs up your Photos Library, videos, and important device settings without you having to think about it.

We are experts at data security, but due to the unpredictable nature of device failures (like a dying hard drive), we can never fully guarantee the integrity, recovery, or completeness of your data.
